Many of you found your way to our blog because of your connection to Alliance For Children. That means you probably already received this letter in your inbox a few days ago. But some of you found your way here on your own or through some other means. I decided to post this for all to see. If you have any ideas or would like to talk further, please contact LinJing, Vivian, Bonnie or me via telephone at: 781-444-7148 or via email at:

Currently I am trying to get some video footage up, but I am having a little trouble with the technology. As soon as that is figured out I will post THE MOST ADORABLE VIDEO CLIP. I can't wait for you to see it. Renee

Dear Friends,
You may already know about our Journey of Hope visit to China last month, of meeting the most wonderful 28 children, all of them in need of adoptive parents. This professional commitment has become quite a personal mission for us and we are turning to you in hopes of making 28 dreams come true.
These children, simply put, have captured our hearts. These 16 boys and 12 girls completely charmed us with their talents and inspired us with their spirit. Most of them have or had some sort of special need, although many will not need any ongoing treatment or special services. Even those who do need extra support or treatment will do so much better with a family of their own here in the US than in an orphanage in China.
We know that there are children all over the world who need families, but that is in the abstract. These are children who looked us in the eye and shared with us their hopes and dreams: “Can you find me a family with brothers and sisters?” “Might I have a family who lives in a place where I can plant a garden?” “Will you find me a family who can send me to a school that will ask me more difficult questions-I want to learn more things.” These children, brave, curious, shy, outgoing all need one thing-a family to raise them.
The great news is that we already have matched TEN of the 28 children with families, and FIVE MORE are being considered for a match. This means we are HALF WAY THERE. But that also means that AT LEAST THIRTEEN CHILDREN do not yet have any prospects for adoption. And that breaks our hearts.
These children are counting on us and we are counting on you. Is there room in your home and in your heart for one more child? If the answer is “Yes,” we ask you in the strongest possible way to contact us. If you are unable to parent one of these children yourself, we still need your help in spreading the word. Here is how it worked for one of the Deaf children: we sent an email to a Deaf organization who forwarded that email to their members and one of their members posted it on an online support group and someone who read that post came forward and are adopting one of those children. They are (this is a direct quote here) “so FREAKING excited!” And so are we.
And that is what we need to do, one child at a time. We hope you will help us find a group, an organization, a school, a listserv where we can forward information or post a notice. Think about your church, synagogue or other place of worship, your town’s email list, your child’s school, your employer, local community center, service organization, or other membership groups. Send us a request and we will send you information to post. Or, if you’d prefer, send us the contact information and we will send it. Spreading the word is a responsibility we all share-but helping find families for these children is a joy we all share, too.
